It’s our favorite childhood food: chicken. Today, though, Germans prefer to buy only breast and drumstick – about twenty kilos of them per year. 

But is poultry farming still profitable, if consumers really only want the breast and drumstick? What happens to the parts we prefer not to eat? And what effect does the subsidization of the European market have on poultry farmers in West Africa? A film about production chains, subsidies, and a disastrous price war over our favorite food: chicken.
